Habitat Restoration

Millions of dollars are allocated annually to support habitat restoration and conservation projects aimed at improving conditions for salmon and steelhead.

The Intensively Monitored Watershed (IMW) program monitors habitat and fish responses to restoration at watershed and population scales. One IMW study is based in the Lower Columbia region, in the coastal subbasin of Mill, Abernathy and Germany creeks. This study site is part of a network of IMW studies across the Pacific Northwest, all of which are designed to help us better understand how restoration can support salmon and steelhead.

Learn about management and habitat restoration implications from 13 different IMW studies across the Pacific Northwest.
